Michel takes after his father in looks, appearing a lot like his father did at that young age. His hair is midnight black. He keeps it short and clean cut. Keeping his hair well trimmed is important to him. Michel's eyes are a dark chocolate brown. When he's angry they harden to nearly black and when he's happy they turn bright and warm.
Michel tends to wear whatever makes him look the best. He generally wears dress pants and button up shirts. His clothes are always whatever is in style at the time, and they are always name brand material. The colors he generally wears are dark colors, such as black, dark blues, grays, etc. He also prefers to wear silks, satin, and other soft fabrics. He always dresses neatly, making certain that there isn't an article of clothing or a hair on his head out of place.
Michel has the 'sex appeal' that every guy wants and it certainly doesn't hurt that he has the money to go with the looks.
Personality:
Michel has basically has two personalities, the one that he hides within himself and the one that he shows to the world. His outer personality, the shell he has built up around himself, gives him the air of the handsome cool guy that everyone adores. Girls worship him and constantly fling themselves at him, flirting, and doing whatever they can to try and catch his attention.
Michel easily charms the girls, dating and romancing them expertly. However, he has never enjoyed being with them, especially when he takes them to his bed. In fact, the only reason he even bothers to date and romance them is because that is what his friends do.
Michel has always felt the need to not stand out. He tends to go along with the popular belief of what a man should be. In fact, he attempts to impress his friends by doing the things they do just so that he won't be considered different. Michel has seen the kinds of things that happen to outcasts and has no desire to become the outcast himself. He has a secret, a secret that he would never tell anyone. It's a secret that confuses him more than anything. Michel is well aware of the fact that he often becomes attracted men. He keeps this secret well hidden; in fact he generally denies it even to himself. Michel has grown up listening to his parents constantly telling him that to be attracted to a person of the same sex as you is wrong. Therefore, even though he finds himself attracted to men Michel denies it because he feels it is wrong.
Inside, Michel is a completely different person than he allows the world to see. He is extremely sensitive to the needs of others. He's also incredibly shy, although he forces himself to interact with people. Although all of his friends enjoy fighting and learning to use different types of weapons, Michel detests weapons of all sorts. He detests all kinds of violence, preferring instead to heal people. He has been involved in forms of violence, especially when he was younger. This simply adds to his sense of guilt and disgust of violence. Michel has sworn off all forms of violence, even going so far as to refuse to fight against someone trying to harm him. This is one trait that Michel refuses to change, even though he must endure the taunts of his friends.
His love for children is shown in both sides of Michel. He finds them helpless and easy to love without all the complications that most adults come with. With the children Michel can be his true self, quiet and thoughtful. The children love him and understand his tendencies. They understand that although he is quiet, Michel loves them all very greatly. Michel loves to play games with the children, even joining simple childish games such as duck, duck, goose and simon says. He also loves to read stories to them, or at times getting the kids to read stories to him.
The Past:
Michel was born on Ström, a planet of water, as an only child to Larz and Jenna de Mornay. Larz and Jenna, both nearing the age of 40, had nearly given up hope of having a child. However, on the day Jenna turned 40 she conceived a child. Jenna and Larz were both advised not to have the child. After all, both parents would be in their 50s before the child even reached the teenage years. How could they hope to give the kind of care that a child needed at that age? However, against all advice, the two loving parents went through with the birth.
Nine months, and many complications later, Michel was born into the wealthy, loving family of the de Mornays. During the pregnancy, Jenna experienced severe toxic poisoning causing swelling throughout her body. She also suffered high blood pressure and interference of pigment causing large brown spots on her face and neck temporarily. She also suffered through severe mood swings and deep depression due to great chemical and hormonal changes in her body in such a short time. The depression got so bad that at times, Jenna felt like getting rid of the baby as well as her own life at times. Larz was constantly worried, after all he loved his wife dearly but at the same time he did want the baby. Finally after Michel was born, Jenna's body went back to normal and after a couple of months she was perfectly able to care for her son. Both parents loved their son dearly and spoiled him by giving him almost anything he wanted.
Regardless of the attention lavished on Michel, the child would not speak and his parents had begun to think he couldn't talk. However, the puzzled doctors simply said there was nothing wrong physically with the boy that would mean he couldn't talk.
When Michel turned five, he began to talk. At first it was hard to understand everything he said, his words being more garbled and babyish then they should be at that age. However, by the time he turned 6 years old young Michel could speak clearly.
His parents were both ecstatic that their child now talked and showered him even more gifts then he had already been receiving. The child took the gifts readily and cheerfully expressed his delight. However, even though he presented himself as a cheerful talkative child, more often then not Michel held deep secrets within his soul. The secrets that Michel possessed at that young age were nothing more then where he hid his treasures, what he wanted to be when he grew up, and other such childish things. However, as he grew older his secrets became deeper and more serious such as his feelings on certain things.
His parents were very old fashioned and continuously preached about the evils of the world. One of the evils they most often preached about was the evil of desiring one's own sex. Larz and Jenna were very strong homophobics, believing that anyone that had relationships of the such were evil. Therefore, they very strongly encouraged their son to believe what they did. Larz and Jenna both grew up in a family that participated in a strict temple that worshiped all the gods and goddesses of the past, although most views had been twisted beyond recognizing. The Temple priests preached about the evils of the world, cautioning its members on doing anything to cause their time in the after life to be painful. One of the beliefs of the Temple included the evils of desiring one's own sex. To make matters worse, Larz's uncle had been gay. The entire family had disowned the uncle to the extent that they forced the man to move off of the planet, teaching young Larz that it was definitely an evil practice. The entire planet of Ström did not share these views, although many people were a part of the temple.
Michel began school when he was 6 years old. At first Michel struggled through school due to his having been late talking. However, by the time Michel reached third grade he had begun to excel in his studies. He regularly made A's, as well as a few B's. He was shy through most of his grade school years, only becoming talkative when he started Junior High. He suffered through constant taunting by his classmates, due to the fact that his parents were old enough to be his grandparents. Kids also picked on him because he never fought back. By the time Michel was 12 years old, he had begun to realize that part of the reason he was being picked on because he never talked. He also realized that most people preferred cheerful and talkative people. His parents were constantly worried about him because he hung around at home instead of going out with friends. Therefore, to stop them from worrying Michel began to make the effort to socialize. In his sixth year, he still had to endure teasing and struggled to join his peers in their games. However, he never really became part of the 'group' until his 13th birthday. In his 7th year, Michel had finally managed to become friends with all of his classmates. He hung out with them and basically did everything that they thought was fun, even if at times he wasn't at all sure that he was enjoying himself.
On his 16th birthday, Michel had his first date. A golden haired, blue-eyed cheerleader that happened to be the girl that every guy wished they could date. The girl, Maria Hanson, and Michel dated for that entire year. Michel would take her to the movies, to parties, and to other social functions. However, it wasn't until they were both 17 and in the 11th grade that the two of them took their relationship to the physical side. Maria and Michel made love several times that year, but Michel never really enjoyed it. At first he wasn't certain why, however by the time he was 18 he had begun to realize his attraction to the guys in his class.
Immediately he felt disgusted and after dumping Maria, he began to date frequently. His dates would generally always end with him taking the girl to his bed. He frantically tried to erase his feelings and attractions by doing his best to be attracted to his female classmates.
Michel was very popular by this time. He was sought after by most of the girls and invited to nearly all of the parties. To make his parents happy and to continue being the popular guy everyone loved, Michel continued to charm and romance the girls. However, there was one problem. Michel was experiencing the attraction to the male population like his parents had always preached against.
His attraction confused him greatly, because he couldn't seem to desire any girl as much as he desired the guys. His parents had taught him it was evil, so he denied everything even going so far as to hate and fear it within him and within others. Michel would go out of his way to show how much he hated homosexuals, telling bad jokes and speaking badly of them at every chance he could get.
When his homophobic friends started talking about scaring the young couple of Billy Tristan and Carter Lee, Michel became excited. All through the next few days, Michel began looking forward to the night they pulled off their plans. Eagerly Michel planned out how he would beat the young lovers up, taking out his hidden pain on the two that represented the feelings that gave him so much grief. After all they were only going to scare them and perhaps the two would start to think better of bothering everyone else with something so unnatural.
On a stormy night, Michel and his friends jumped Billy and Carter on the way out of a building and took them to the ocean. Billy and Carter struggled violently to escape the young men that had attacked them. However, Michel and his friends were a lot bigger then Billy and Carter. Michel was able to subdue Billy, making it impossible for him to go to Carter's aid, while Michel's friend Alex managed to shove Carter's head under the water in an attempt to subdue and frighten him. While Alex held Carter's head under the water and Michel held Billy still, the other guys Bradford, Chester, and Reggie taunted young Billy mercilessly with ugly names and threats to continue these late night attacks until Billy and Carter stopped seeing each other.
Deep inside Michel felt terrible, each of his friends' words cutting deep into his very soul. His grip on Billy tightened painfully, his fingers digging into the smaller boy's skin. Every time that Billy attempted to escape, Michel would punch him viciously in his side unconsciously taking out his frustrations about his own feelings on the weaker guy.
Michel watched the scene with horror, continually holding Billy still so he couldn't race to his boyfriend's side. The horror Michel felt was due to his extreme hatred of violence, as well as the fact that down deep he knew that if he were honest he could have been one of the victims instead of one of the attackers. Suddenly, Michel realized that Carter had been under the water a very long time. Still holding onto Billy tightly to prevent him from escaping, Michel called, "Alex let Carter up now, he has been under there a long time. He needs to be able to breath."
Alex laughed and insisted that Carter would be fine, however, after a few more seconds the other guys started to insist he release the boy. Alex finally released Carter when his struggles ceased, laughing and joking until he got a good look at the younger man's face. Realizing that their joke had turned deadly, Alex paled before turning and running from the scene, followed by several of the other young men. One of the young men, Bradford, caught hold of Michel¹s arm and tugged saying, "Come on Michel, we have to get out of here." Glancing sorrowfully at Billy for only a moment, Michel released him and dashed off with his friends.
Seeing how sorrowful that Billy was several days later, Michel was very remorseful. Even though his parents had always taught him that the relationship that Carter and Billy shared was evil, he felt terrible and urged his friends to at least apologize. Only a few of them, headed by Michel apologized to Billy each knowing that a simple apology could never bring back the boy they had all help murder. However, it was all they could do.
The Ström policemen investigated the incident and tried to press charges. However, Michel and his friends would never admit to anything they had done. To make matters worse, Billy wouldn't testify. The young man refused to talk about the incident at all costs. Finally, the police were forced to drop all charges and simply write the incident up as an accidental death.
It was soon after this that Michel's parents died. His father, Larz died of a particularly nasty cancer that the doctors hadn't caught in time. His mother, Jenna died of heartbreak a month later.
Heartbroken over the loss of his beloved parents, Michel retreated further into himself. Keeping his dark secrets and longings to himself and only presenting the world with his false cheerful self. Michel still acted the part of a popular and well-adjusted guy, going out with his friends and dating frequently. As far as everyone else was concerned, Michel was a fun loving guy that loved being the center of attention. They never realized that Michel was so broken up over the loss of his parents.
Before she died, his beloved mother gave him the stone that she always wore around her neck. She carefully explained to Michel exactly what the stone was and that it would make him the warrior of Glödhet. Michel had always known that his mother had always worn the stone, however whenever he had asked about it she had always told him she would explain later. On her deathbed, Jenna apologized for keeping him in the dark. She explained to him that she hadn't wanted him to know they were the protectors Glödhet simply because she had been afraid she might lose him. She apologized for holding him back and asked him to take his rightful place as the protector of Glödhet. Since then, Michel has taken to wearing it as well, although generally under his shirt and close to his heart.
After his parents died, Michel began his new life by immediately began the extensive training it would take to become a doctor. He had been taking medical classes for a while, but now he took them seriously. It wasn't long before he passed all of his classmates, having found he had a natural skill of healing. He never wanted another chance to commit violence and felt that if he remained as a healer he could not only save people from the violence he detested, he might be able to save people from deaths such as cancer.
Although Michel does work for the military, he only does so occasionally. For the most part, he has his own patients around the area he lives. The military simply calls on him whenever they need his aid. On day, while he was hurrying to visit one of his patients he heard something crying softly under a nearby bush.
His heart went out to the pitiful cry, and Michel crawled under the bush and found a young volpe. He quickly rescued the young animal. At the time, the creature was nothing more than a tiny babe a lot smaller than the creature should actually be.
Michel still had a patient to attend to, so he simply dropped the creature in his bag, and went on to treat his patient. The moment he got home, he gently took out the little under sized creature and began the long job of nursing the little fellow back to health. Although the little animal wasn't injured he was malnourished and partially dehydrated from being held captive in the cage for a few days. Klimt, the name he gave to the little volpe soon became his best friend.
The Present:
Currently Michel is living in a small cottage right near the ocean. He loves to see the moon and the sun setting and rising over the water. He has turned his family home, the large wealthy mansion he grew up in, into an orphanage.
Michel works there as often as possible, generally at least three or four times a week. It is within his rights to fire anyone he deems is not worthy to work with the children. The children love him and hate the days when he doesn't come by to at least visit him. He makes their lives much better than they ordinarily would have been, making certain they have enough toys, food, and love to sustain them.
On days when Michel is not working at the orphanage, he works as a doctor for the less fortunate. Although he does treat the wealthy, he generally saves his time for those unable to afford good doctors. Michel's friends don't really understand him anymore, however, they can't fault him for anything. After all, to them Michel always presents himself the way he has done for as long as they have known him - a wealthy popular fun loving guy that charms and romances the ladies and hangs out with the guys. What they don't know is that Michel is forever longing for something or someone, which he won't even admit to himself; a longing that only shows up in his dreams at night, a longing of a small, frail, young man of dark red hair and bright green eyes that has always made a big impact on his life.
The Future:
Michel wishes for someone to love him for who he really is. He wishes to find someone that wouldn't mind living in a small cottage by the sea, even though Michel could afford a more luxurious place. He hopes to find a person that wouldn't mind his devotion to his beloved children of the orphanage, or his devotion to healing those who can't always pay him what his services are worth.
Location:[taken from Rain/Ström's profile]
Michel currently lives on the planet Ström, a couple of miles from the central city of Lokai. Ström is a planet with a lot of water. Scientists have calculated that 76% of Ström is covered in water. The rest consists of landmasses separated by the expanses of ocean.
The ocean is teeming with fish, sharks, and odd-looking sea mammals with huge snouts and large fins. The people of Ström utilize the sea for food. Additionally, the mammals are used for oils and fats as well as their waterproof skin. Shellfish and mollusks round out the people's diet. Because of the availability of water, many of the popular sports are water-related: surfing, diving, water-skiing, wake-boarding, etc.
Ström has frequent rainy seasons but due to its orbit and distance to other planets and stars, the rain doesn't flood the planet as would be expected. Instead, it keeps the planet in a fairly comfortable temperature setting. Without the frequent rain, Ström would undoubtedly be incredibly hot and humid 98% of the time. Instead, the planet is only relatively humid. Inhabitants have already become used to this sort of climate and do not seem to even notice it anymore.
Tropical settings are easily found all around the planet until one ventures too far north or south. There, snow and ice can be found because these areas are sheltered from the heat of outside sources.
Habitants of Ström live in buildings made almost entirely of wood; this isn't just any type of wood, but the wood from the trees of the many rainforests found on the planet. With so much rain, it was a natural choice since the trees have always been able to naturally withstand the rain. To add to that, a concoction made from the fat of one of the forest-dwelling animals is applied to the outside of the wood. When applied, water slides off of the wood harmlessly. This prevents the wood from warping under the strain of water. Several groups have protested this practice and have since migrated into the rainforests to actually live in large housing units built within the branches of the larger trees.
The wildlife on Ström thrives in a wet, damp climate. Rain forest is the typical plant life of the planet and the forest floors are covered with thousands of species of moss. Rana, which are similar to frogs, are the most abundant type of animal through out the forest. Most species of rana grow to be at least one foot tall. Larger rana are often used for food among the land-dwelling and tree-dwelling people. The meat is both nutrious and tasty.
Large volpe are often hunted for their incredibly soft furs by the land-dwellers. The furs aren't use for clothing, for the climate is much to hot for that, but for bedding and rugs for their houses. The animal's meat is bland and never eaten. Volpe resemble large wolves with a huge bushy fox-like tail. The tree dwellers object to the use of the animals only for their furs and protest this as much as they protest the wood curing done by the land-dwellers.
Be them tree-dwellers or land-dwellers, most of the people of Ström believe in self-government. For the most part, communities act as their own government. When a decision cannot be reached or the problem at hand is too great, the community gathers with other community councils to request aid in their final decision. The leader who presides over these proceedings is Na Thaniel. He is not, however, viewed as the planet's ruler.
Michel's own moon, Glödhet orbits Värmebölja/Heat . It is a small moon compared to most of the moons of the Doua Stelle system, in fact it has been said to be the smallest moon in the entire system. The atmosphere of Glödhet is very unbearable to humans, making it impossible for anyone to visit the surface. Volcanoes are plentiful on the surface, as well as pools of boiling sulfur and rivers of magma. The air is filled with poisonous gases and the temperatures are always extremely hot, never going below anything that might be tolerable to a human being.
Transformation:
Holding up the stone that he wears about his neck, Michel softly chants, "I call upon the fiery phoenix and the heat of my moon, Glödhet, to help me to aid and heal the ones I love and protect." A giant phoenix made of fire and intense heat forms behind him. It then enfolds him within its wings, while screaming a loud angry cry. When the bird disappears, it reveals Michel as the Phoenix of Glödhet.
Warrior Form:
As the Phoenix of Glödhet, Michel is dressed in soft black leather pants and a black shirt. A reddish black belt is around his waist, held together by a gold buckle. A picture of the phoenix of earthen legend is engraved upon the gold buckle. Phoenix does not wear any guns, although a silver knife is sheathed in his belt on the rare occasion that Phoenix must protect himself or his teammates. A small reddish black bag is attached to his belt as well containing all sorts of medical things such as gauze, tape, ointments, and other medical supplies that might be needed to heal someone.
Attacks:
Phoenix does not have an offensive attack, he is really only useful in the healing and defensive arts. His only abilities would be Phoenix Fire
Phoenix Fire: This defensive move creates a shield of burning flames that surround Michel as well as any who happens to be near him. This shield can protect from physical and magical attacks, however, it drains on Michel's own energies. Therefore, he cannot hold it for very long.
Weaknesses/Strengths:
Phoenix is a great defender and is an expert at healing people by standard ways and magical ways. However, although he has a knife, Phoenix is a very weak fighter. Not only does he hate to fight, but he has never really been trained to do so.
Phoenix's only ability Phoenix Fire tends to drain Michel's energy very quickly.
Items:
Michel has two very precious items that he carries with him everywhere. One is the stone of Glödhet that his mother gave him. This stone is a black stone with a large fiery phoenix hovering within it. The stone is attached to a fine gold chain. On her deathbed his mother, Jenna, gave him the stone and told him that he should keep it with him always. It would lead him to his proper destiny. Michel hasn¹t taken it off since then.
The other item that Michel always has about him is a reddish black bag hooked to his belt that is filled with medical stuff such as gauze, tape, ointments, and other medical supplies that might be needed to heal someone.
Other:
Other then the children of the orphanage, the only companion Michel can truly be himself with is his beloved pet Klimt. Klimt is a half-grown and undersized volpe, a large wolfish creature with a huge bushy fox-like tail that he once rescued from a trap and nursed back to health.
Klimt is now half grown, although he is still smaller than his wild brothers. He is a playful creature that loves to tag along with Michel wherever he goes. Klimt is also well behaved and good with other people, especially children. Michel often brings him over to the orphanage to spend the day with the children. Klimt also has been taught to search out missing or wounded people. He helps Michel in his job by having a reddish black bag strapped to his back carrying even more medical stuff such as gauze, tape, ointments, and other medical supplies so that Michel won't run out quickly when dealing with lots of patients.
Writing Sample:
Michel stared at the letter he had just received in shock. Swallowing nervously, he read the letter through three more times before the words finally made any sense to him.
He sat down and glanced over at Klimt, whispering, "They want me to go to Forsilvra Klimt. Apparently they are calling all of the stone carriers to come there because of the appearance of that craft."
Michel sighed heavily before adding, "I'd imagine that they are going to expect us to fight Klimt, or at least in my case heal those that are fighting. I'd rather stay here, playing in the ocean with the children."
Klimt answered in his usual way with a sound somewhere between a whine, a growl, and a purr. He nudged his master's hand gently with his nose and once again growled with that strange whine, growl, purrish noise.
Michel patted his friend between the ears and said, "It's ok Klimt. I have to go, there isn't anyway around that. Therefore, I shan't be irritable and depressed about it. The children will just have to make do without me for a while. David and Jaina will take care of them. The main question is, should you stay with them or come with me?"
This time the response Klimt made was more whine then anything. He was an intelligent volpe and understood his fair share of words, although he couldn't speak.
Michel tugged Klimt's ear affectionately and said, "Alright boy, I'll find a way to take you along with me. The children will miss you though, but if I can't be here with the kids I'd like to keep you with me."
The volpe immediately whine, growl, purred his response and licked his master¹s hand before retreating back to his bed with a toothy yawn. The next week, Michel was on the shuttle heading toward Forsilvra. It had taken him a few long hours of arguing before he had actually boarded the vessel, not to mention many hours of the week before of cutting through red tape to bring Klimt along with him. However, Michel was insistent, if they wanted him to come to Forsilvra then they would have to allow Klimt to come along as well.
Michel had finally gotten the officials to agree that he was to be allowed to bring Klimt along, provided of course the creature be confined to a cage during the voyage, and that he always leashed or caged throughout his stay on Forsilvra.
He knew that Klimt wasn't exactly happy about his loss of freedom, however it had been the only way to get them to agree. He glanced down at the cage settled next to his feet and soothingly said, "Its alright Klimt. It won't be so bad, at least your here with me and I'll be sure to give you as much exercise as I can."
Klimt whined softly before wagging his tail to let his beloved master know he would be alright. He would have preferred to be as free as he was use to being, but he was content to be caged and leashed as long as he could be with Michel.
