Marilynn is fine-boned and delicate looking. She stands at 5'5" and has curves in all the right places. Marilynn has blond hair that falls to her shoulders in soft curls. She usually always wears it down. Her eyes are gray, though depending on what she wears they can appear to be light blue. She wears clothes befitting her rank, though she prefers grays and blues.

Personality: Marilynn prides herself on being a real lady. She never raises her voice and she never does anything unseemly. She never argues with a man, though that does not mean that she does not know how to get her way. A woman does not have to shout and behave in an unlady like manner in order to get something done or to be heard.

She has learned from her mother that knowledge can get you far and so she takes it upon herself to know everything that is going on around her. She never hesitates to use whatever information she comes by if she should ever see a need to do so.

Marilynn is a serious and quiet young woman, always doing whatever is needed to get things done to her satisfaction. She has a kind heart, but she can be a little domineering especially towards her siblings. She likes when things go the way she wants them to go. She takes after her mother in the way that she is very matronly. Everything that she knows about running a household, she has learned from her mother.

Some of her favorite past times are reading a good book, knitting, or embroidery. Marilynn has a nurturing soul; show her a lost kitten, puppy, or child and she will look after it.

When she was younger, Marilynn got along with other people just fine. She was very social and didn’t mind meeting new people. In more recent years she has become just a little skittish around new people especially men. However, as she was raised to be a proper lady she never shirks her duties and avoids people. She speaks to them just fine, especially if she is the host of whatever is going on. Marilynn simply prefers not to have to greet new people and tends to get away from it as soon as it is proper enough for her to be able to do so without raising eyebrows and starting gossiping tongues to wagging.

These days she can come off as a little cool to people she just met. However, after she gets to know a person better she is a lot friendlier.

Marilynn is a little irritated over the fact that although she was the first born, eventually she will have to give control of running the house to whomever her brother takes as his wife. She doesn’t find it fair that only the first born son can be the heir, although this is something she would never say to anyone. It is simply the way of the world that men are heirs and woman run the household. A proper lady would know this and so she doesn’t complain.

History:

Marilynn was born to Revelin and Marie Ashpool. She was the first born child and thus just a bit of a disappointment to Revelin. That did not mean however that he did not love his daughter. He loved her greatly, he had only been hoping for an heir. For four years she had her parents’ undivided attention and loved it, though it didn’t take her long to began to adore the role of big sister when her brother Jarvis was born even if she had to share her parents with him.

She has grown up close with all of her siblings. She loves them all, especially her younger brother Jarvis. Marilynn has taken a special interest in him ever since he was born. He was the first that she was able to play big sister too, though she loves all of her siblings pretty much the same. Marilynn can be a bit domineering toward them all. When they were out playing, she frequently played the bossy big sister bit and tried to get them to do what she wanted them to do. Whenever they were hurt, upset, or scared for whatever childish reason Marilynn was always there to comfort them to the best of her ability. As far as she was concerned she was the perfect big sister, loving and comforting even if that did come with a bit of bossiness.

Marilynn hasn’t led that exciting of a life. She simply grew up in the family castle, taking her lessons from both her mother and her tutors. Her favorite past times are knitting and embroidering, along with reading. She does take walks out in the gardens at least once a day, though she never fails to make certain she is properly escorted. Marilynn knows how to ride and can be coaxed into riding across the countryside, though she would much rather stay inside and work on whatever knitting or embroidery project she happens to be doing or simply reading a good book.

In 1005, her father, Reveling, became sick and died. Marilynn grieved her father’s passing, taking comfort in both her mother and her other siblings. However, it wasn’t long before her mother became bed-ridden with illness. Marilynn has become frustrated with the fact that she can’t get in to see her mother, always running into Raine Lorterra who claims that Marie requested her help.

Marilynn eventually stopped trying to get in to visit her mother simply because ever single effort of hers was thwarted by Raine. She dislikes the woman greatly, but there isn’t much she can do. She spends her time trying to take her mother’s place around the castle and running it her stead. Marilynn also spends time with her other siblings, not wanting to lose them like she has lost her parents.

She eventually marries into the Severene family.

Writing Sample:

Marilynn sat in one of the sunniest rooms in the castle over looking the gardens. Although she was working on some of her embroidery, her mind was running back to earlier in that day. She had been attempting to visit her mother, but once again she had been met at the door by Raine. It never failed, the woman was always there. It was frustrating to say the least.

She sighed softly at the thought of her mother. Marilynn missed the days when Marie was running the household and making certain everything was just so. Although she was doing a fine job, it didn’t seem right. It should be her lovely mother running things just like she use to do.

With another gloomy sigh, Marilynn turned to look out the window. She longed for the days when things were simpler, back when both of her parents were around and her siblings and she were just small children.

Marilynn returned to her needlework knowing that moping around wouldn’t get anything done. Things always changed and there wasn’t anything you could do about that. Gloomy sighs and wandering thoughts certainly wouldn’t run a household, nor would it make her mother any better.
